For those of us who love remodeling shows, the best part is usually the dramatic reveal at the end, when the show’s host yells “move that bus!” or “Welcome home!” The difference between the before and after is astounding. It’s part of the appeal in viewing before and after photos online – to see the incredible transformations. Your own bathroom remodel might not star in an HGTV show, but it’s no less exciting to see the finished product for the first time! Here are a few of our favorite ‘before and after’ remodels to inspire your own project.
Bathroom Remodel: From Dark and Dysfunctional to Bright and Spacious
This outdated bathroom was dark and mismatched, lacked a coherent style, and no longer met the homeowners’ needs.
Enter Re‑Bath!
Our Design Consultant worked with the homeowners to uncover their design preferences and asked them about their daily routines to ensure their new bathroom would be not only attractive, but truly functional, as well. Together, they picked out coordinating colors, materials, fixtures, lighting, and other elements to create a bright, modern space they love.
The Big Reveal
Their new Transitional style bathroom combines contemporary and traditional elements for a unique look that’s simple and sophisticated. A craftsman-style vanity offers plenty of storage space, and the oil rubbed bronze fixtures add a subtle contemporary twist. An oversized shower replaces the tub/shower combo in the previous design, giving the couple better use of their space. DuraBath™ Acrylic Smooth White Calcutta marble wall surround lends a contemporary edge and strikes a perfect balance against the natural vibe of the Avaire tile flooring, laid in a herringbone pattern to add interest and depth. Clean lines, a neutral palette, and minimal accessories are the hallmarks of this light and airy transitional bathroom.

Bathroom Remodel: From Stark and Boring to Light and Stunning!
Next up: A bathroom completely devoid of personality that offers only basic functionality. The homeowners wanted to make this space their own and needed to add storage and counter space. With no need for the tub, the couple chose to replace it with a larger shower that incorporated safety elements in a seamless way that wouldn’t distract from the design. Voss Collection by Moen shower hardware beautifully enhances the French Mocha Natural Stone shower surround. A frameless shower door with matching hardware completes the look.
The old vanity lacked character and didn’t offer enough storage space for the homeowners. Hudson style Bertch cabinets in Dawn add warmth and style. Dual framed mirrors complement the clean lines of the vanity and square-cut sink. Oil-rubbed bronze fixtures from the Voss Collection by Moen and coordinating three-globe bath lights add the final touches.
The Big Reveal
Their new bathroom allows an abundance of natural light to flood the space. Tall cabinets at the far end of the vanity add plenty of storage space and break up the neutral walls. Modern touches add visual appeal without overwhelming the space. The finished product is an effortlessly serene bathroom that reflects the couple’s personal style and provides all the functionality they need.
